On Saturday, May 12, the Volcanic Earth Geology Research Group (GEOVOL), a division belonging to the University Institute for Research in Environmental Studies and Natural Resources (i-UNAT) of the ULPGC, organizes the 2018 Geolodía in La Aldea de San Nicolás. The event promoted by the Geological Society of Spain (SGE), consists a day to visit to the geological and natural heritage accompanied by geologists, totally free and with open participation to all interested persons. The event has the support of the local goverment of La Aldea, which focuses on nature tourism.
On the other hand, on Friday May 11, a conference on the operation of the La Aldea aquifer will be offered. The conference will be given by Maria del Carmen Cabrera Santana, full professor of the ULPGC, member of the Research Group GEOVOL and the i-UNAT. The conference will take place at 19hrs in the Visitors Center of the Marina Micro-area "El Roque", located in the historic warehouse of La Aldea's dock.
100 place were offered, of which 50 are for residents in La Aldea and another 50 for interested persons. We appreciate the great interest but all places are already booked
