The IV Canary Islands Geology Olympiad was held on 9th of February, at the School of Marine Sciences of the ULPGC. Participated 23 students from 7 High Schools centers: five from Gran Canaria and two from Tenerife. The event had the collaboration of GEOVOL members and the students had tests of theory and practices in the morning, and a petrographic microscopy workshop in the afternoon.
The two students who represent the Canary Islands in the National Olympiad were, Youhuang Yang from IES Támara, and Pablo Junyent Hernández from Arenas Atlántico School. Congratulations to them, their teachers and all the participants for their enthusiasm, because in the end everyone gained knowledge and shared experiences.
