On 6th July, Rayco Guedes Alonso defended his Phd Thesis entitled "Optimization and development of extraction methods for the analysis of steroid hormones. Application in environmental samples interest of Gran Canaria island" under the directon of the Professors Dr. Zoraida Sosa Ferrera and Dr. José Juan Santana Rodríguez.
The PhD committee composed of Dr. Antonio Molina Díaz, Professor of the University of Jaén (president); Dr. Radoslav Halko, Professor of the Comenius University of Bratislava (vocal); And Dr. María Esther Torres Padrón, Senior Lecturer at the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (Secretary); awarded the distinction "cum laude" unanimously and International Phd mention, for his defense also in English.
The event, which lasted approximately fifty-five minutes, had the assistance and support of relatives, friends and colleagues, as well as some professors of Marine Science.
